Stunning Red Black and Striped Short Māori Korowai
This stunning Red Black and Striped Short Māori Korowai is ideal for 21sts, special birthdays, graduations, and ceremonies where you want a regal look.
It would also make a wonderful corporate gift.
The korowai, or kahu huruhuru to be exact, is made by a Māori lady of Ngati Porou descent. She machine stitches the kakahu, to make a very affordable garment.
The korowai has a knitted taniko top, in red, black, and white. The taniko has a patiki pattern. Pātiki (flounder) designs are based on the diamond shape of the flounder fish. The flounder is a symbol of favourable times, prosperity, hospitality and good luck.
Below the taniko are beautiful feathers - firstly dark brown/grey striped feathers, and then a mix of red and black feathers. The combination is gorgeous.
(If you want different coloured feathers, let us know. You can choose different coloured feathers here.)
This korowai measures approximately 1m wide, and 20cm (8") deep. It is lined with quality black cotton fabric.
Proudly Māori made in New Zealand, and shipped worldwide.
NB: If we are out of stock at the time you order, allow 2 weeks for it to be made.
The korowai is also available in a deluxe black gift box - perfect if this is a presentation piece. (In the example photo you will see a paua korowai, but if you are purchasing this red korowai, it is what you will receive in the box).
